What This Program Focuses On
Over 6 weeks, we’ll train:
- Running-specific strength for efficient power production
- Hip and core stability to support stride mechanics
- Lower-leg durability to reduce common overuse injuries
- Eccentric control for safe downhill and fatigue resistance
- Cadence + economy drills that transfer directly to the road or trail
Participants will follow a progressive strength plan with short, targeted workouts and movement patterns that mirror the forces and mechanics of running.

What Makes READY TO RUN Different
READY TO RUN is developed by performance physical therapists who specialize in working with endurance and action sport athletes.
Our programming blends injury prevention, strength development, and performance training to help riders stay consistent and confident all season long.
This series is designed for:
- Recreational to competitive runners
- Athletes preparing for spring and summer running seasons
- Runners who want to feel stronger, faster, and more resilient
- Runners looking to reduce injury risk and improve consistency
No prior strength training experience is required. Exercises can be scaled or progressed to meet individual experience levels and training goals.
Why Runners benefit from strength training:
Running places unique and often undertrained stress on the body, including:
- Repeated impact loading with every stride
- High demands on lower-leg and tendon durability
- Sustained single-leg stability and control
- Eccentric loading, especially during downhill running and fatigue
Strategic strength training helps improve:
- Running economy and power production
- Fatigue resistance late in runs and races
- Movement control and stride efficiency
- Overall durability across high-volume training seasons
