Ready to RIDE
It's time almost time to play bikes.

Spring Class Series: Ready to RIDE at HWPO GYM VT!
March 18-April 22 | Williston, VT $180 [$15/workout]
Our Ready to RIDE series begins on March 18. This class series will take you through an in-person weekly class and provide you with a home workout.
No more guessing what to do to get ready for mountain biking, we already have it programmed.
You just need to SHOW UP ready to WORK HARD and we'll take care of the rest.
This is not a generic strength class. Each session is intentional, progressive, and MTB-specific.

What This Program Focuses On
Over 6 weeks, we’ll train:
- Lower-body strength for climbing, braking, and repeated efforts
- Explosive power for surges, accelerations, and technical terrain
- Core and trunk strength for stability and control on descents
- Upper-body and grip endurance for long rides and rough terrain
- Force absorption and deceleration to better handle impacts and fatigue
Participants can expect a progressive 6-week strength build paired with short, high-intensity training blocks, strategic recovery, and movement patterns that challenge your ability to both produce and control force — just like you do on the bike.

What Makes READY TO RIDE Different
READY TO RIDE is developed by performance physical therapists who specialize in working with endurance and action sport athletes.
Our programming blends injury prevention, strength development, and performance training to help riders stay consistent and confident all season long.
This series is designed for:
- Recreational and competitive mountain bikers
- Riders preparing for spring and summer riding seasons
- Athletes who want to feel stronger, more stable, and more resilient on the bike
- Riders looking to reduce injury risk and ride consistently all season
No prior strength training experience is required. Exercises can be scaled or progressed to meet individual experience levels and training goals.
WHY MTB Athletes benefit from strength training:
Mountain biking places unique and often undertrained stress on the body, including:
- Repeated eccentric loading, especially during descents
- High grip and upper-body endurance demands
- Rapid transitions between seated power and standing explosiveness
- Sustained trunk stability demands across technical terrain
Strategic strength training helps improve:
- Power transfer to the pedals
- Fatigue resistance late in rides
- Control and confidence on technical terrain
- Overall durability across long riding seasons
